Rose Wright, Mothers’ Union’s Policy Manager, on the ways we can tackle gender-based violence

This 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Mothers’ Union is focusing on tackling the stigma surrounding gender-based violence, and how we can break the power of silence, lift the shame placed on victims by societies, and shift the blame for violence from victim to perpetrator. Many years ago, I worked in the community, supporting women affected by domestic abuse. As well as providing one to one support, I also ran group sessions to bring together people affected by similar forms of violence and abuse.
