Passover Celebration
What is it?
Passover its the oldest and most important of Jewish festivals, commemorating God's saving of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. The term Passover refers to the last of the plagues God brought upon the Egyptians to persuade Pharaoh to let the people go.
But we are Christians not Jews so why celebrate Passover?
There are lots of things that we can learn from the celebration of Passover, it shows us Gods work in saving his people. Jesus adopted the Passover service to demonstrate the new work that God was undertaking through Him
What happens?
There is a simple service with a meal in the middle. The service will draw together strands from the Old and New Testaments. Food plays a central part within the Jewish tradition and we will be celebrating in the same way as a Jewish family would celebrate. Children are welcome and are an integral part of the event.
Cost
To cover the cost of food £5 adults £2.50 Children £13 family.
