We are passionate about wanting to make sure that as many people as possible can access church. We are continuing to adapt our worship to ensure all can participate.
If you have a particular need or concern, please do get in touch to discuss it, we will do our best to make good accommodations.
The main building has step free access into the main worship space
We have and use a loop system.
We have chairs, which are easily movable, allowing wheelchair users to sit wherever they choose.
We have a selection of chairs with arms for those who need more support getting into and out of chairs. Our floor is carpeted, and we do have bean bags for those who would prefer more relaxed or sensory seating.
When we stand up in worship, it will always be optional (and are committed to saying so), many people are more comfortable sitting for many reasons, you are always welcome to remain seated.
In our entrance you will find a box of fidgets. These are used by those with special educational needs, neurodiversity and those who just like to use them. Help yourself!
We have 2 pairs of ear defenders that anyone can use, in our entrance.
In many of our services there are safe quieter spaces people can use, if needed or helpful, please speak to someone on the welcome team, a churchwarden or service leader if that might be useful to you.
We have started to use a widget board to explain what is happening in the service. You’ll find this on the glass doors near the creche, and displayed on the rolling notices on the screen at 10:30am service.
We have printed large print orders or service and hymn books at our 9am service.
Here you will find a sample social story for a 10:30am communion service with children’s groups. We can provide a more bespoke social story for a specific service you might be coming to (whether that be a Sunday service, wedding or funeral etc), if you get in touch.
Here you’ll find a video that gives a walk through of what it’s like walking into the building.
All our PCC, and many other members of church have participated in dementia friends training.
We do have an accessible toilet, but it was built some years ago, and may be tight for some wheelchair users, we’re happy to provide more information if necessary.
Our refreshments always have dairy alternatives and gluten free options. If you have a different allergy, please speak to the refreshment team who will be happy to talk you through what is available.
